q: what does the bo ssäm include?
a: the bo ssäm (which is korean for enclosed or wrapped) includes a whole slow cooked pork shoulder, a dozen oysters, white rice, bibb lettuce, ssäm jiang (korean bbq sauce), kimchi and ginger scallion sauce. the dish is essentially pork and condiments wrapped in lettuce.

q: how much is it?
a: $200 for your entire party. not including other food and drinks ordered or tax and tip. please note, we only accept a maximum of four credit cards per table. 

q: how do I reserve a bo ssäm?
a: on the momofuku website here.

q: what are the available time slots?
a: we offer the bo ssäm at dinner and lunch. for dinner, sunday to thursday, 5, 6, 6:30pm. friday and saturday, 5:00, 5:15, 5:45pm and 11, 11:30pm. the lunch bo ssäm is offered everyday at 12, 12:30, 1pm.

q: why are there no reservations between 6:30pm and 11pm?
a: since we want to guarantee seats for your party, we are unable to make reservations during the dinner rush hour.

q: how far in advance does one have to reserve?
a: up to 4 weeks in advance and at least 24 hours notice for monday to thursday reservations. friday, saturday and sunday reservations close at 11:30pm on thursday evenings.

q: what if I want to cancel my reservation?
a: please cancel by clicking on the cancellation link on your confirmation email. then, you will be sent a cancellation email. our cancellation policy is as follows:

or reservations monday - thursday, if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance of your reservation time or do not attend your reservation, you will be charged $50.
for reservations friday - sunday, if you cancel after thursday at 11:30 pm or do not attend your reservation, you will be charged $50.00.

q: how many guests does it feed?
a: 6-10 people. we recommend at least 6 people for the bo ssäm. guests with parties from 10 to 20 people must order the bo ssam prix fixe menu.  click here for more information. or, e-mail events@momofuku.com to check availability.

q: can we order from the regular menu?
a: yes, since the bo ssäm is technically one dish, most parties order from the main menu to enjoy a variety of dishes.

q: are there beverage pairings?
a: no, but your server can recommend wine, beer or sake.

q: are there any vegetarian alternatives to the bo ssäm?
a: no, but vegetarians can enjoy the bo ssäm without the pork or they may order items from the regular ssäm bar menu.

q: how is the pork cooked?
a: the pork shoulder is slow roasted for 6-8 hours with a brown sugar and kosher salt rub.

q: where is the pork from?
a: our pork comes from niman ranch.

q: how much time does it take? how long is the typical bo ssäm dinner?
a: your bo ssäm will arrive at your table approximately 15 minutes after your reservation time. guest typically take two hours to enjoy the bo ssäm.

q: what should I do if I am running late?
a: there is a 15 minute grace period before we relinquish the table. please make sure your entire party is prompt and arrives at your reservation time. if you will be late, please call our reservation hotline 212-500-0831.

q: can I order the bo ssäm to go?
a: yes, please order at least three days in advance by emailing your phone number, order and pick-up time to events@momofuku.com. we offer the bo ssäm as well as a deluxe bo ssäm dinner package for pick up only. click here for a menu.

q: do you have a dress code?
a: no.


q: may i make a reservation for someone else?
a: yes, but please have them bring your reservation confirmation.

q: may i purchase a bo ssäm dinner for a friend or loved one?
a: yes, but please do so by ordering a gift card either directly at ssäm bar or by emailing gift@momofuku.com

q: why do we only take reservations for parties of 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10?
a: the bo ssäm is a large format dinner for parties of 6 or more.

q: what if i need to change my party size?
a: please call the bo ssäm reservation hotline 212-500-0831.

q: can i use my ko reservation account login for the bo ssäm reservation site? 
a: yes.

q: how many days in the future are available for booking online?
a: our calendar always shows reservations up to four weeks in advance.

q: when is the new day available online?
a: 10:00am

q: how do i know what's available?
a: green check mark = available / red "x" = taken

q: i clicked a green check but didn't get the reservation, why?
a: reservations are given on a first come basis so you have to click fast, really fast. even if you see a green check mark you may not get the seat because someone else may grab it a split second before you.

q: why doesn't anyone answer the phone?
a: we have a very cool voice mail system that emails your messages to the appropriate person. we'll get your message on our blackberry/email and get back to you.

q: what happens to cancellations / is there a waiting list / do you allow walk-ins?
a: cancelled reservations return to the reservation system. there is no wait list. if you're a walk-in and would like the bo ssäm, please check with your server about availability.

q: can i make a reservation by phone?
a: no. sorry but we only take reservations online.

q: i never received my confirmation email. what should i do?
a: check your junk, spam, or bulk e-mail filters.

q: why do you need my credit card information to make an account?
a: we want to identify you as an individual with a unique credit card number associated with a unique email address. this helps protect against reservation scalpers and automated internet spiders that could snap up reservations and then sell what should be free. we want the system to be fair and we figure that just about everyone has a credit card number and an email address. we do not retain your complete credit card information.

q: i forgot my password.
a: click on the "forgot password" link on the reservations' home page.

q: how many reservations can i make per week?
a: we limit reservations to two per week.

q: how do i change my password?
a: log into the system and click on the "change password" link on the lower right.
